Vernon, Ohio - Jeffrey Charles "Buz" McGhee, age 67, died on Sunday, May 12, 2024, in Greenville, Pennsylvania, follow a brief illness. He was born on September 20, 1956, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, the son of Raphael Madelyn (Vernel) and Byron Ellsworth McGhee. Jeff was a 1974 graduate of Brookfield High School.
On August 30, 1985 he married the love of his life, Particia "Chicky" Ann DeCarmen. Jeff was a dedicated Plant Operator for Shenango Valley Water Company for thirty-seven years, until his well-deserved retirement in 2014. He was a member of Saint Patrick Catholic Church of Kinsman, Ohio.
Jeff's life was enriched by his passion cheering on his beloved sports teams, the St. Louis Cardinals, the Indianapolis Colts, and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He found joy in playing guitar, hunting, fishing, and farming his own land alongside his children. However, his greatest happiness was spending time with his grandchildren whom he adored dearly.
Jeff is preceded in death by his parents, and sister-in-law, Lou Ann McGhee. Survivors include his dear wife of thirty-eight years, Patty McGhee; his four children, Jeffrey P. (Heather) McGhee of Vernon, Ohio; Sarah M. (Tommy Wilkes) McGhee of Bristolville, Ohio; Zachary K. (Rachael) McGhee of Macedonia, Ohio; and Katelin R. (Jason Hockey) McGhee of Howland, Ohio; ten cherished grandchildren: Shawn, Sophia, Camilla, Everett, Aria, Emmett, Emerson, Morgan, Aubree, and Millie; his brother Byron "Mac" McGee of Brookfield, Ohio; sisters Debbie (Thomas) Sanford of Hartford, Ohio; Cindy (Robert) Fifthian of Hermitage, Pennsylvania, as well as many nieces and nephews. Let us not forget Jeff's favorite grandcats - Delicious and Horkey.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024, at 7:00 PM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, Ohio, with Father John Ettinger officiating. Private burial will be in West View Cemetery, Vernon, Ohio. Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 17th from 5:00 PM until the time of services at the funeral home.
