Jerome A. "Jerry" Leindecker

Jerome "Jerry" A. Leindecker, age 69, of Andover, Ohio, died Friday, March 9, 2012 at his home. He was born September 25, 1942, in Pittsburgh, PA, a son of Jerome A. and Florence (Prus) Leindecker. A resident of Andover since 1996, Jerry was formerly of Pittsburgh. He retired from MacIntosh Hempfield Steel Mill in Pittsburgh after working for over thirty years in various steel mills. He was a member of the Sportsman Club of Holiday Camplands; served as a volunteer for Holiday Camplands Fire Department and the Council. His hobbies included fishing, gambling, and football, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers. Jerry is survived by daughter, Diane Siford of Pittsburgh, PA; son, Jerry C. Leindecker of Andover,OH; son, Charlie (Rachel) Leindecker of Columbus,OH; daughter, Mary (Dean) Newsome of Andover, OH; five grandchildren, Amber and Chandler Newsome, Cole and Todd Siford, and Sofia Leindecker; and one sister, MaryLou (Danny) Basulto of Pittsburgh, PA. He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife of ten years, Carol "Tootsie" (Lamberger) Leindecker; his second wife of thirty eight years, Jean (Hill) Leindecker, on Nov. 7, 2011; and a son-in-law, Steven Siford. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 134 Prospect St., Andover,Ohio. Calling hours will be from 12:00 PM until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. A late lunch will be held immediately following the service at the Holiday Camplands Fire Hall.
