Joanne Ida Snyder

Cortland, Ohio - JOANNE IDA SNYDER, 68, of Cortland, Ohio, and long time Vernon resident, died Sunday, February 26, 2006, at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, Ohio. She was born December 12, 1937 in Sharpsville, Pennsylvania to Delaware B. and Elizabeth (Rock) Cornwell. Formerly of Warren, Mrs. Snyder was a 1955 graduate of the former St. Mary's Catholic School. She received her cosmetology license in 1956, and a Higher Accounting and Business Administration diploma from the Warren College of Business and Professional Drafting in 1968. Mrs. Snyder was a member of St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church in Greenville, Pennsylvania, and of the Third Order of St. Francis Society. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, and gardening. She married Alfred E. Snyder on June 17,1960, and he preceded her in death in June of 1998. She is also preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her son, George B. (Katie) Snyder of Vernon and a grandson Christian P. Snyder of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 3, 2006 at St. Michael's Cemetery Chapel at 11:00 A. M. with Father Richard Tomasone officiating. Burial of cremated remains will follow. No calling hours will be held.
