John Henry Allen,

Dorset, Ohio - John Henry Allen, Jr., age 86, died on Monday, April 25, 2011, in Youngstown, Ohio. He was born on July 3, 1924 in Whealley, Arkansas, the son of Theresa (Whitehead) and John Henry Allen, Sr. Mr. Allen graduated in 1942 from East Cleveland High School and graduated from Tri State College. He served in the United States Army from December 1948 until December 1952 in both Korea and Japan. Mr. Allen married Yaeko Kogirima in 1952. He was a teacher for Cuyahoga County Board of MRDD for many years. Mr. Allen was formerly a member of the Cleveland Budist Temple and an acitve member of Veteran of Foeign Wars. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Yaeko Allen; an infant sister and brother; a sister, AnnellCross and three brothers, Roger Allen, Fred Allen and William Allen. Mr. Allen is survived by a daughter Megumi Allen of Dorset, Ohio. Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 29, 2011 from 2:00pm until 4:00pm at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 134 Prospect Street, Andover, Ohio. Burial will follow in Dorset Cemetery.
