John P. Dobos

John P. Dobos, Sr., age 86, of Andover,OH, died Wednesday, February 28,2007, at the Cleveland Clinic. He was born August 7, 1920, in Hastings, Pennsylvania, to Peter and Alice (Lipocki) Dobos. Mr. Dobos was employed by Allegheny Ludlum where he retired from in 1985. He was a veteran of World War II and Korea having served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Dobos was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church in Andover; and his hobbies included stamp collecting, reading, fishing, wine making, and doing remodeling projects. Mr. Dobos is survived by his son, John F. "Chip" Dobos of Columbus, Georgia; two sisters, Margaret Music and Dorothy Dobos; and four grandchildren. Preceding him in death are his wife, Thelma, parents and an infant sister. A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Victory Church, 481 South Main St., Andover,OH. Cremated remains will be placed in the Greenwood Mausoleum in Lower Burrell, PA. Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect St. Andover, OH, handled the arrangements.
