John R. Hartman

Cortland, Ohio - John Russell Hartman, age 52, died at home on Wednesday, February 10, 2016. He was born on January 28, 1964 in Warren, Ohio, a son of Janice Lou Houser and Raymond John Hartman. A 1982 graduate of Joseph Badger High School, John was a lifelong dairy farmer. He worked for the former Target Stamped Products of Kinsman for over twenty-five years. He loved to farm and collected various cows as well as mustangs. John enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother; a brother, Jeffery R. Hartman and grandparents, Maxine and Virgil Houser. Survivors include his sister, Joleen R. "Jodi" (James) Starcher of Mecca, Ohio; brother, Jerry R. Houser of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; his father, Raymond J. Hartman of West Union, Ohio; nieces, Brittany, Brianna, Baylie; nephews, Kyle, Kase, Brandon and Jimmy; along with five great nieces & nephews. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 15, 2016 at 12:00 Noon at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 8569 Main St., Kinsman,OH. A private burial will take place in Gustavus Cemetery.
