John L. Kumher, age 76, of Bazetta Township, OH, died Thursday, December 14, 2006, at his home. He was born April 28, 1930, in Hamden Township, OH, to Stephen A. and Anna S. (Bacon) Kumher. A lifelong area resident, Mr. Kumher had lived in Bazetta for the past 51 years. He was employed by Target Stamped Products in Kinsman,Ohio, for 42 years, retiring in 1992. Mr. Kumher was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the U.S. Army. His hobbies included metal and wood working, and he enjoyed the outdoors and listening to music. Mr. Kumher is survived by his wife, Joan L. (Wall) Kumher, whom he married October 11, 1950, of Bazetta Township,OH; his three sons, Larry A. (Pam) Kumher of Champion, OH, Stephen E. Kumher of Lacey, WA, and James G. (Emese) Kumher of Goodyear, AZ; his daughter, Arlene S. (Keith) Norris of Akron, OH; three brothers, Louis Kumher of Gustavus Township,OH, Daniel Kumher of Cortland,OH, and Carl Kumher of Cortland,OH; seven grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Jeffrey D. Kumher on April 26, 2005; a granddaughter, Heather Norris in 1985; and one sister, Leotine Sechler. Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 18, 2006 from 6 to 8 P.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main St., Kinsman,OH. No services will be held. Burial of cremated remains will take place in Kinsman Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
