JOHN I. MOY, JR., age 87, of Vernon township,Ohio, died Sunday, February 3, 2008, in French Creek township, PA. He was born November 14, 1920, in Toledo, Ohio, the son of John I. Moy, Sr. and Helen J. (Beach). A resident of Vernon for most of his life, Mr. Moy was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in World War II. He owned and operated J & M Salvage in Vernon for many years, retiring in 1982. Mr. Moy was a member of the National Rifle Association; and his hobbies included horseshoe pitching, reading, and playing cards. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Moy married Mildred I. (Vaught) on December 23, 1942. She preceded him in death on September 28, 1998. Also preceding him in death are his parents; and a brother, Lavere Moy. He is survived by four sons, John (Cheryl) Moy III, of Vernon, Robert (Joann) Moy, of Vernon, Kenneth (Sandy) Moy of Vernon, and Randall (Erma) Moy, of Vernon; one sister, Marilyn Thurber, of Vernon; nine grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main St., Kinsman,OH. Burial will follow in West View Cemetery, Vernon, OH. Calling hours will be Friday, February 8th from 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
