Johnston Township, OH--- John Wade McGrath, Sr., age 80, of Johnston Township, OH, died Wednesday, February 28, 2007, at Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren, OH. He was born January 16, 1927, in Hartford, OH, to Max J. McGrath and Elizabeth E. (Mowry) McGrath Sutton. A long time Johnston resident, Mr. McGrath was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World War II. He retired from American Welding, formerly in Niles, in 1989. Prior to that he was employed by Youngstown Kitchens for 22 years; and he owned and operated a farm for many years. Mr. McGrath is survived by his wife, Elizabeth J. (Larese) McGrath, whom he married May 17, 1949, of Johnston Township, OH; his son, John W. (Paula) McGrath, Jr. of Gustavus township, OH; one grandson, John W. McGrath III of Anchorage, Alaska; one granddaughter, Autumn L. McGrath of Niles, OH; three sisters, June (Lloyd) Hoffman of Greenville, PA, Marian (Pete) Walleff of Greenville, PA, and Emily "Lu" (Earle) Bogacki of Greenville, PA; and three brothers, Herbert (Kay) McGrath of Burghill,OH, Richard (Ann) McGrath of Warren,OH, and Charles (Joyce) McGrath of Plano, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Audene Miller and Dorothy Ondrezek; and one brother, Max McGrath. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 5, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main St., Kinsman,OH, with Rev. Jeffrey Coggins officiating. Burial will follow in Johnston Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday, March 4th from 5 to 8 P.M. and also on Monday from 10 A.M. until the time of services.
