Greene, Ohio-Joseph Mistak, age 80, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 27, 2010. He was born on August 23, 1930 in Orwell, Ohio, the son of Mary (Ciaston) and John Mistak and the youngest of five children. Joe was a 1949 graduate of Greene High School. He loved to sell things and started by repairing and selling bicycles. Joe loved to find something that no one had a use for and make it like new. He had a God given mechanical ability and was an industrious person, working hard and fast at whatever he did. Joe also spent many years in the insurance industry. On October 18, 1949 he married Caroline M. Ranck. He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Wayne, Ohio. He loved people and wanted everyone to know Jesus as Savior and Lord. He was loved by family and friends and will be greatly missed. Preceding him in death is his parents; a sister, Sophie Zifko; three brothers, Andrew, Ludwig and Stanley Mistak and a nephew, John Mistak Smith. Survivors include his wife of sixty years, Caroline M. Mistak of Greene, Ohio; a daughter, Kathleen A. (Michael) Mihalik of Canton, Ohio; two sons, Joseph J. (Wendy) Mistak of Greene, Ohio and Anthony D. (Cindy) Mistak of Narvarre, Ohio; and five grandsons, John (Wenda) Mistak of Summerville, South Carolina, David Mistak of Berkeley, California, Jesse Mistak of Chicago, Illinois, Andrew Mistak of Cleveland, Ohio and Jordan Mihalik of Canton, Ohio. A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 30, 2010 at 11:00am at the First Congregational Church of Wayne, Routes 322 & 193 with Pastor Bob Coleman officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Greene, Ohio. Calling hours will be on Monday from 10:00am until the time of services. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Benevolence Fund of the Wayne Congregational Church.
