Kinsman, Ohio - Josephine Innocenzi, age 91, went home to be with the Lord and be reunited with her beloved husband, Henry, on Saturday, October 12, 2024, while surrounded by her loving family. She was born Giuseppina Notareschi on September 16, 1933, in Villa Sant’Angelo, Italy, the daughter of Ernestina (Marcotulio) and Nazzareno Notareschi.
Josephine and Henry met in Villa Sant'Angelo. While stationed in Europe with the United States Army, Henry was able to take some time to visit the town where his father lived. Josephine was able to meet and visit with the handsome US soldier. They reunited in Youngstown, Ohio, soon after Josephine immigrated to the United States in 1957. They married on April 25, 1959, spending sixty-two years together.
She was an assistant cook for Joseph Badger High School for twenty-five years. She was loved by students and staff and was known for her homemade cinnamon rolls. Josephine was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, and the Altar & Rosary Society, and volunteered with the Kinsman Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. You could always find Josephine cooking in her kitchen, braiding garlic, or making fall arrangements from pumpkins and flowers. Josephine’s true labor of love was cooking for her family and friends, especially homemade sauce, bread, apple strudel, and pizzelles. She was also very proud to watch her grandchildren in all their activities.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of sixty-two years Henry; and a sister, Ada Coletti. Survivors include her four children, Carl Albert (Julie) Innocenzi of Cortland, Ohio, Frank (Maureen) Innocenzi of Solon, Ohio, Linda (Daniel) Mash of New Franklin, Ohio, and Marlene (Gary) Roser of Alexandria, Ohio; her 97-year-old sister, Maria Gianetti of L'Aquila, Italy; two brothers, Mike (Mary) Notareschi of Poland, Ohio, and Ezio (Linda) Notareschi of Stillwater, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren, Andy, Rachael, Brenna, Laura, Kate, Steven, Anthony, Jason, Christine, Vincent, and Sara; four great-grandchildren, Hazel, Elliot, Madeline and Clara Josephine, and many nieces and nephews.
