Joyce M. Weldy

Cherry Valley, Ohio - Joyce M. Weldy, age 67, died on Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at the Cleveland Clinic. She was born on August 20, 1940, in Salem Township, Mercer County, Pennsylvania, to Howard L. and Sarah E. (Henry) Roberts. Mrs. Weldy was a press operator for Andover Industries for over 12 years. She worked as a poll worker for the Board of Elections at Cherry Valley for many years. Mrs. Weldy enjoyed shopping, being outside doing yard work and feeding as well as watching the hummingbirds. She is preceded in death by her husband of thirty-five years, Frank W. Weldy Sr. whom she married on June 5, 1959. Others preceding her in death are a grandson Caleb J. Weldy; and three brothers, Dawson, Rodney and Les Roberts. Survivors include a daughter, Melody L. Kokesch of Denmark, Ohio; three sons, Frank W. Weldy II, of Cherry Valley, Ohio, Brian S. (Roberta) Weldy of Dorset, Ohio, and Howard L. (Tracy) Weldy of Fort Myers, Florida; a sister, Imogene (George) Alwine of Abbottstown, Pennsylvania; a brother, Donavan (Tory) Roberts of Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 28, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect Street, Andover, Ohio, with Rev. Peter Elencovf officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Pierpont, OH. Calling hours will be on Sunday, April 27, 2008 from 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
