Brownsville, Tennessee – Judith Ann Merrifield, age 68, died on Friday, July 20, 2018 at her home unexpectedly. She was born on December 23, 1949 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Charlotte Helen (Luth) and Richard Harris Orr, Sr. A long time Kinsman resident until the fall of 2015, Judy was a 1967 graduate of Joseph Badger High School. Judy earned her degree in nursing from Youngstown State University where she met her husband, William R. Merrifield. They were married on September 17, 1970. She was a member of the Kinsman Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the church choir and was formerly a deacon. Judy had a love of horses and owned and operated, Merrihill farm and riding arena. Judy collected antiques and had a discerning eye for decorating. She loved to sail and travel, as well as spending time with her friends and family but especially enjoyed seeing her two grandchildren. Judy is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of forty-one years, William R. Merrifield, Sr. and a brother, Jeffrey Orr. Survivors include her two children, Nicole J. (Andrew) Steenhausen of Mentone, California and William R. Merrifield, Jr. of Washington DC; two grandchildren, Ava Marion and William David Jeffrey Steenhausen and three brothers, Richard (Mary) Orr, Jr. of Kinsman, Ohio, Robert (Jodi) Orr of Lake Milton, Ohio and Gregory Orr of Akron, Ohio. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 23, 2018 at 4:00 PM at the Kinsman Presbyterian Church, 6383 Church Street, Kinsman, Ohio with Pastor Sue Francis officiating. Burial will follow in Kinsman Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the church, PO Box 305, Kinsman, OH 44428.
