Gustavus, Ohio - June B. Banning, age 82, of Gustavus Township, Ohio, was reunited with her beloved husband, Duane, on Wednesday, March 30, 2011. She was born March 11, 1929, in Newton Falls, Ohio, a daughter of Samuel and Evelyn (Draa) Barto. A lifetime Gustavus resident, June was a 1947 graduate of Gustavus School. She was employed at Packard Electric in Warren, Ohio, retiring in 1981. She was a long time member of the Gustavus Federated Church, she and her husband served as 4-H advisors for Buckeye Riders horse club for several years. June committed herself to contributing school supplies every year to area schools, and was an avid bowler. She served as a board member for the Warren USBC Women�s Bowling Association, where she was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2004. June was a Cleveland Browns and OSU fan. Most of all she truly loved and treasured her family and enjoyed spending time with her family. June married Duane Banning on March 18, 1950, and he preceded her in death in 1981. Also preceding her in death are her parents. She is survived by her daughter, Candy (Alan) Parish of Greene, Ohio; her son, Larry (Cathy) Banning of Kinsman, Ohio; her five grandchildren, Kimberly (Mike) Geoffrion of Florida, Melissa Parish of Cortland, Ohio, Stacey (Shawn) Perkins of Kentucky, Kevin (Diana) Banning of Johnston, Ohio, and Kelly (Daniel) Sutcliffe of West Virginia; her six great grandchildren, Makayla, Draven, Deagan, Ashley, Kayla, and Danielle; her one great-great grandson, Braydon; her three sisters, Helen Bonar of Vernon, Ohio, Marilyn Dilley of Kent, Ohio, and Carol Arnio of Fowler, Ohio; and her two brothers, Raymond Barto of Kinsman, Ohio, and Samuel Barto, Jr. of Brookfield, Ohio. A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 4, 2011 at Noon at the Gustavus Federated Church, 8849 St. Rt. 193, Farmdale, Ohio, with Rev. Karl Bucey officiating. Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 4th from 11:00am until the time of service. Burial of cremated remains will take place in Gustavus Cemetery.
