JUNE MUIR JOHNSON, age 89, of Kinsman, Ohio, died Saturday, February 2, 2008, at UPMC Horizon Hospital in Greenville, PA. She was born August 11, 1918, in Cochranton, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Donald N. and Margaret (Thomas) Muir. A long time area resident, Mrs. Johnson was a 1936 graduate of Gustavus Centralized School. She was employed by the Trumbull County ASCA office; Joseph Badger High School; and the Gene Shaffer Insurance Agency as a secretary, retiring in 1980. She and her husband also owned and operated the Johnson' s Grocery Store in Kinsman in the late 1950's. Mrs. Johnson was an avid reader, enjoyed quilting, playing dominos and gin rummy, and spending time with her family. She married Russell K. Johnson on December 13, 1946, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 11, 1994. Also preceding her are her parents; a sister, Lilly Belle Muir; and three brothers, Allen, Donald, and Willard Muir. She is survived by her daughter, Kay (Paul) Schneider of Gahanna,OH; a sister, Mary Hott of Fort Myers, FL; a brother, Edward Muir of Farmdale, OH; one granddaughter, Jennifer Schneider; and two grandsons, Michael and Timothy Schneider. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main St., Kinsman, OH, with Rev. David McKinnon officiating. Burial will follow in Kinsman Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, February 5th from 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 4500 Rockside Rd. Suite 440, Independence, OH 44131.
