Karl Richard Moore

Karl Richard Moore, age 83, of Conneaut Lake, PA, died Saturday, October 13, 2012, at the Meadville Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. He was born September 1, 1929, in Waynesboro, PA, a son of Leslie Todd Moore and Freeda (Steele) Forsythe. Formerly of Andover, Mr. Moore had lived in Conneaut Lake for the past 35 years. He was employed as a highway engineer for Moneloh Basin Engineering Co. in Pittsburgh, retiring in 2009. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member and former post commander of the VFW in Linesville, PA. Mr. Moore enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing pool, and woodworking. Mr. Moore is survived by his wife, Colene (McCumber) Moore, whom he married April 5, 1958, of Conneaut Lake; a daughter, Susan (Glenn) Geyer of Arcadia, FL, son, Chris Thurber of Conroe, TX, son, Robert "Rick" (Anita) Thurber of Meadville, PA, son, Richard (Laura) Moore of Conneautville, PA, daughter, Robin (Chester) Crawford of Conneaut Lake, PA, son, Randall (Shannon) Moore of Meadville, PA; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; one sister, Nancy Kirby of Colorado; and two brothers, Frank Forsythe of Andover,OH, and Samuel Forsythe of Florida. He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Betty Lou (Forsythe) Pepe and Alberta Bates; and two brothers, Robert "Red" Forsythe and William Forsythe. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 12:30 PM at the Linesville VFW Post #7842, Gehrton Rd., Linesville, PA 16424.
