Gustavus, Ohio - Lanny Lawrence Tricker, age 80, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, March 31, 2016, at his home with his family by his side. He was born on September 29, 1935 in Gustavus, Ohio a son of Marjorie M. (Sharpe) and Lawrence O. Tricker. Lanny graduated from Gustavus High School where he took pride in assisting in the custodial care of the school. On July 10, 1954 he married Greta Lee Eaken. A longtime farmer, Lanny also drove truck for the former Cortland Fuel & Supply and for Cover Lumber. Most recently he drove school bus for Joseph Badger Schools, retiring July 1, 2015. His bus students were near and dear to his heart, even after retirement. In the same way, they have continued to express their love and devotion to Lanny in the same manner. He was a member of Rock of Grace Family Ministries since 1969. He assisted in the building of the church, Christian school and parsonage. Lanny was a deacon, taught Sunday School, was a worship leader, and was known to help out or lend a hand with anything. A big part of Lanny's Legacy was his leadership for countless years in the Royal Rangers, which is a ministry to Reach, Teach and Keep boys for Christ. He had such a love and devotion for his Lord and his church which was reflected in the way he lived his life. Lanny enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, preserving food, wood working, cutting firewood. He was a strong, hardworking man whose work ethic influenced many others. Words cannot express Lanny’s Christ-like love for his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a true patriarch and spiritual leader to his family. His life was a shining example of love, kindness, patience, compassion, positivity, humility, and strength. He taught us how to be a loving husband and father. His fun-loving attitude was displayed in his interactions with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren in whom he took great pride. He was viewed by his family as well as anyone who came in contact with him as a man we could only aspire to be. His life is one to be celebrated and we thank God for our time with him. His LEGACY continues. Lanny is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Tanya Renee Sirrine; two sons, Kelly Todd Tricker and Richard Lee Tricker and a sister, Elgene Bland. Survivors include his wife of sixty-one years, Greta L. Tricker of Gustavus, Ohio; a daughter, Tamara S.
