Laura A. Ball

LAURA A. BALL, age 82, of Cherry Valley, Ohio, died Thursday, June 19, 2008, at her home. She was born December 9, 1925, in Havaco, WV, McDowell County, the daughter of James Z. and Fanny B. (Kress) Bridgeman. A long time Cherry Valley resident, Mrs. Ball was a homemaker. She attended the Harvest International Church in Austinburg, OH; and she enjoyed sewing, reading, fishing, yard sales, and visiting family and friends. Mrs. Ball married Sam H. Ball on June 26, 1940,and he died July 31, 2003. Also preceding her in death are her parents; three sons, Joe E. Ball, Jerry D. Ball, and Charles C. Ball; one grandson, James D. Ball, Jr.; two brothers, James and George Bridgeman; and two sisters. She is survived by three daughters, Linda J. York of Kingsville, OH, Christine M. Fraser of Rockford, MI, and Phyllis J. Ritchey of Ashtabula,OH; seven sons, Roger H. Ball of Jefferson,OH, Ralph A. Ball of Jefferson, Donald R. Ball of Warren,OH, James D. Ball of Dorset, OH, Allen H. Ball of Dorset, Johnny R. Ball of Jefferson, and Marvin D. Ball of Dorset; 34 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 23, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect St., Andover, OH, with Rev. Raymond Lamb officiating. Burial will follow in Cherry Valley Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Sunday, June 22nd from 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Harvest International Church.
