Leonard D. Jewell

Leonard D. Jewell, age 91, of Dorset, Ohio, died Thursday, February 14, 2013 at the Cleveland Clinic. He was born September 7, 1921, in Richmond township, Ohio, a son of Fay and Marguerite (Leonard) Jewell. A lifetime area resident, Mr. Jewell was employed as maintenance supervisor for Pymatuning State Park. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in World War II in the Asiatic-Pacific and American Theatre. He was a member of the Andover Christian Church; and he enjoyed gardening and sports. Mr. Jewell is survived by his wife, Claudia M. (Spencer) Jewell, whom he married September 6, 1941, of Dorset, OH; his three daughters, Carol S. (Dana) Clute of Williamsfield,OH, Linda K. Vancourt Jewell of Dorset, OH, and Judy D. (Herb) Dean of Dorset, OH; 13 Grandchildren; 32 Great Grandchildren; 8 Great-Great Grandchildren; and one sister, Shirley M. Weir of Dorset,OH. He is preceded by his parents; and his brother, Harry W. Jewell. Mr. Jewell will be cremated and no services held.
