LeRoy Layton Lipps

Ashtabula, Ohio - LeRoy Layton Lipps, age 71, died on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Ashtabula County Medical Center. He was born on August 16, 1941, in Ashtabula, Ohio, the son of Glenna Doris (Fetters) and Layton Howard Lipps. Mr. Lipps was a 1959 graduate of Williamsfield High School. He was a lifelong resident of the Wayne and Williamsfield area. Mr. Lipps worked for the former Andover Industries, Rockwell Brake and Rome Feed all while running his own dairy farm. On August 30, 1959 he married Janet L. Smith, she died on April 8, 1996. Mr. Lipps married Sabra E. (Wood) DeAngelo on June 18, 1999. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Andover, Triandra Masonic Lodge F & AM No. 780 and the Ashtabula County Antique Engine Club. He loved farming, his tractors, playing the piano and his faithful dog Katie. Mr. Lipps is preceded in death by his parents; he first wife, Janet L. Lipps and an infant daughter, Aimee Vanessa Lipps. Survivors include his wife of thirteen years, Sabra E. Lipps of Ashtabula, Ohio; his daughter, Lisa L. Fleming of Williamsfield, Ohio; a son Mark A. (Nicole) Lipps of Louisville, Ohio; a step-son, Harold A. (Debra) DeAngelo of Ashtabula, Ohio; a sister, Nola (Larry) Vlock of Jefferson, Ohio; two brothers, L. Robert (Christine) Lipps of Williamsfield, Ohio and Lesley (Beverly) Lipps of Ashtabula, Ohio; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren with two additional on the way. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 5, 2012, at 2:00PM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 134 Prospect Street, Andover, Ohio. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 4th from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at the funeral home.
