Leta M. Kagy

LETA M. KAGY, age 91, died Friday, May 1, 2009 at the Brian Center in Waynesville, NC. Formerly of Vernon Twp., Ohio and Orlando, Florida, Mrs. Kagy had lived in North Carolina with her Daughter and Son-In-Law since 2003. She was born Oct. 15, 1917 in Vernon, Ohio, the daughter of Emmett "Ray" and Mildred (Davis) Diday. Mrs. Kagy worked for a number of years at the Rexall Drug Store in Kinsman Ohio, the Peerless Electric Co. and JC Penney. She was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church in Waynesville, NC and the VFW Auxiliary. Mrs. Kagy enjoyed reading and traveling. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Dale Kagy; a brother Harold "Pete" Diday; and a great granddaughter. Survivors include her daughter, Leona Kagy Hughes of Waynesville, NC, 4 granddaughters, and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main St. Kinsman, Ohio with Pastor Steve Taylor of the Waynesville Antioch Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Kinsman Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of services at the funeral home.
