Lillian V. Marr

Andover, Ohio - Lillian V. Marr, age 88, died on Sunday, May 15, 2011. She was born on May 23, 1922, in Andover, Ohio, the daughter of Bertha A. (Ylitayo) and John G. Salo. Mrs. Marr was a 1940 graduate of Andover High School. On December 25, 1941, she married Donald L. Marr. She worked as the Title Officer for the former John Rugala Chevrolet Dealer in Andover for almost twenty years. She was formerly employed by Holiday Camplands, Wonder Bread, and the Andover Public Library. Mrs. Marr was a life member of the First Congregational Church of Andover. She belonged to the Friends of the Library, Order of Eastern Star, and the Andover Quilt Club. Mrs. Marr enjoyed baking, reading, gardening, quilting and walking her loving dog Dinah. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald L. Marr; a grandson, Lont Marr; two sisters, Berta Salo Carroll and Sylvia Salo Heath and three brothers, Eugene, Albert and Edward Salo. Survivors include her daughter, Carol Ann (Herb) Fobes of Roundup, Montana; two sons, Denny J. (Linda) Marr of Andover, Ohio, and Charles M. Marr of Hoquiam, Washington; five grandchildren, Cynthia Green, Sheryl McHugh, Jeremy Fobes, Dawn Marr, and Laine Marr; three great-grandchildren, Devon, Jason and Ashley and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2011, at 11:00 am at Rocky Glenn Cemetery in Adamsville, Pennsylvania. A celebration picnic will be held at Crystal Lake following the burial at Rocky Glenn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Andover Public Library or the Congregational Church in Andover.
