Linda L. Hines, age 62, of Johnston Township, OH, died Saturday, January 7, 2012, at Northside Medical Center. She was born September 3, 1949, in Ashtabula, Ohio, a daughter of Robert Free and Beulah Mae (Mellinger) McLaughlin. A resident of Johnston Township for over 25 years, Mrs. Hines was formerly of Kinsman. She was a 1967 graduate of Joseph Badger High School. She was employed as a waitress at Virgil's Restaurant in Kinsman, the Wagon Wheel Restaurant in Williamsfield, and the Burghill Country Inn. She attended the Johnston Federated United Methodist Church; and actively participated as a survivor in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life every year. Mrs. Hines loved to spend time with her family; and enjoyed playing Bingo. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She is survived by her husband, James A. Hines, whom she married March 19, 1970, of Johnston Township, OH; her son, Jason Hines of Warren, OH; her daughter, Kristine Ruhlman of Cortland, OH; her sister, Patricia Tharp of Johnston Township,OH; her four grandchildren, Amber Cole of Cortland,OH, Tabitha Granelly of Vienna, OH, Harlei Scott of Cortland, OH, and Zachary Granelly of Vienna,OH; and her three great grandchildren, Kaylei Cole, Zoey Cole, and Issac Cole. She is preceded in death by her parents; and her step father, Virgil McLaughlin. Private services will be held for the family. Burial will take place in Johnston Cemetery.
