Linda L. Welch

Gustavus, Ohio - Linda L. Welch, age 69, died on Friday, June 1, 2012 after a lengthy illness. She was born on January, 29, 1943, in Ashtabula, Ohio, the daughter of Virginia (Smith) and William Platt. Linda was a 1961 graduate of Ashtabula High School and a lifelong area resident. On March 7, 1964 she married Jon P. "Jack" Welch. She helped her husband run the family's farm, along with working at the Kinsman Boyd Home. She was a member of the Gustavus Federated Church. Linda enjoyed going to garage sales, making crafts, including jewelry making, knitting and woodworking. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of forty-four years, Jon P. Welch and her brother, Richard Platt. Survivors include four daughters, Shelley J. Baumgartner of Gustavus, Ohio, Betsy L. Welch of Columbiana, Ohio, Carrie L. Page of Kingsville, Ohio and Jodi A. Osoro of Canal Fulton, Ohio; two sons, Nelson A. Welch of Gustavus, Ohio and John J. Welch of Champion, Ohio; one sister, Judy Mosley of Sadieville, Kentucky; one brother, Kenneth Platt of Ashtabula, Ohio and eight grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at Noon, at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 8569 Main Street Kinsman, Ohio. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, June 9th from 11:00am until the time of services. Burial will be in Gustavus Cemetery.
