LeBanon, Ohio - Loa Diane "L.D." Best, age 72, died on Monday, October 26, 2015, in Andover, Ohio. She was born on November 12, 1942 in Los Angeles, California, a daughter of Dorothy (Snodgrass) and Kenneth Stewart. Having graduated from high school in California, Loa had a degree in Nursing, and was an Army Nurse for seventeen years. She was also a Certified Public Accountant, a certified teacher and worked with autistic children, an ordained minister, a column editor for the Franklin Chronicle, a horse trainer and wrote several books. Loa served in the United States Army from 1961 until 1978 and traveled the world. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother. Survivors include her daughter, Helen D. Abernathy of Orient, Ohio; two sons, Michael Best of LeBanon, Ohio and Vincent McMullan of Berkley, California and her granddaughter, Ayla Abernathy. Private services will be held by the family.
