LOIS M. BURNS, age 75, of Andover, Ohio, died Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at her home. She was born May 11, 1932, in Andover, Ohio, the daughter of Sherman Smock and Gladys E. (Hall) Smock. A lifetime area resident, Mrs. Burns was a homemaker. She was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church of Andover; and a former member of the New Lyme Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Richfield Grange. Mrs. Burns enjoyed making pillows, sewing clothes, and crafts. Mrs. Burns married Charles A. Hawkins June 2, 1950, and he preceded her in death in September of 1990. She married George Lawyer June 14 ,1992, and is preceded in death by him in October of 1998. She is also preceded in death by her parents; one granddaughter, Ashley Hawkins in November of 1994; and one sister, Shirley Corlew. She is survived by her husband, Dale Burns, whom she married May 26, 2001, of Andover; son, Charles (Cindy) Hawkins, Jr. of Andover; daughter, Gladys (Gary) Fumich of Shalersville, OH; son, Donald (Kathie) Hawkins of Oak Harbor, OH; son, Douglas (Jamie) Hawkins of Lakeville, OH; son, David (Liz) Hawkins of Loudenville, OH; four step children, Gloria (Lynn) Murphy of Warren, OH, Gary (Linda) Burns of Hubbard, OH, Bradley (Diana) Burns of Rock Hill, SC, and Robert (Kym) Burns of Manassas, VA; brother, Harry (Joan) Smock of Andover; sister, Wanda Britton of Crawfordville, FL; 17 Grandchildren; 12 Great Grandchildren; several step grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect St., Andover, OH. Burial will follow in Brownville Cemetery, New Lyme, OH. Calling hours will be on Friday, April 25th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, C/O Building Fund, P.O.
