Lois Dolly Shaner

Lois Dolly Shaner, age 91, of Saegertown, PA, died Sunday, November 13, 2016, at her daughter's home in Saegertown. She was born July 31, 1925, in Mecca,OH, a daughter of Orris and Emily (Konigsfield) Benton. A resident of Kinsman for the past 62 years, Dolly had lived in Saegertown for the past 4 months. She was a graduate of West Mecca School; and was employed by Blazon Industries in Andover and Target Stamped Products in Kinsman. She was a member of the Stateline United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, and the Rebekah Lodge. Her hobbies included bowling, baking, quilting, crocheting, playing cards and dominoes, and doing crafts. She also enjoyed hunting with her husband and fishing. Dolly married her husband, Robert L. Shaner, on April 10, 1947, and he preceded her in death on April 18, 2001. She is also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Austin J. Benton; two daughter-in-laws, Peg Shaner and Angel Shaner; and two son-in-laws, Don Melvin and Tom Dilworth. She is survived by her son, Robert S. Shaner of Kinsman, OH, daughter, Lois Sue (Ted) Singleton of Safety Harbor, FL, son, James M. Shaner of Kinsman, OH, daughter, Mary Kay Melvin of Brookfield, OH, daughter, Laura Beth (Joe) Palmer of Saegertown,PA; 11 Grandchildren; and 15 Great Grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016, at 4:00 PM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 8569 Main St., Kinsman,OH. Calling hours will be on Saturday from 2:00 PM until the time of service. Cremation will follow services and burial of cremated remains will take place later in West Mecca Cemetery.
