Lois L. Stilson, 81 years old, of Cortland, Ohio, died on Tuesday, April 19, 2005, at her home. Lois was born on May 28, 1923, in Youngstown, Ohio, to the late Sherman R. Spindell and the late Amanda S. (Erickson) Spindell. Formerly of Youngstown, Mrs. Stilson was a 1941 graduate of Chaney High School in Youngstown. She was a homemaker; and was a long time former member of the Mahoning United Methodist Church, where she attended Sunday School for 73 years, sang in the choir for 61 years, and taught Nu Friendship Klass for 43 years. She was a current member of the Kinsman United Methodist Church, where she also sang in their choir. Mrs. Stilson was active in both churches holding several offices and serving on many committees. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and the Christian Women's Club. She loved to sing, play piano, and paint. She traveled throughout Ohio and Western Pennsylvania performing Christian music. Mrs. Stilson married William C. Stilson on November 18, 1943. He preceded in her death in February of 1996. Also preceding her in death are her parents; and three brothers, Sherman, Edgar and Verne Spindell. She is survived by her son, Bill Stilson and his wife, Monica, of Austintown, OH; her daughter, Linda Nanosky and her husband, Mickey, of Kinsman, OH; four grandsons; two granddaughters; and three great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 22, 2005, at 11:00a.m. at the Kinsman United Methodist Church, 8362 Main St., Kinsman, Ohio, with Rev. Marian Glass officiating. A private burial will take place in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Youngstown. Calling hours will be on Thursday, April 21, 2005, from 4p.m. to 8p.m. at Baugmardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main St., Kinsman, Ohio.
