Lont J. Marr, 33, of Sharon Hill, PA, passed away quietly at Fox Chase Cancer Center with his family by his side on Monday, May 30, 2005, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Lont was the beloved husband of Maria I. (Cortez) Marr with whom he shared 4 years together. Born in Ashtabula, Ohio, he was the dear son of Denny and Linda (Woodruff) Marr of Andover. Lont was a 1989 graduate of Pymatuning Valley High School and a 1993 graduate of Bowling Green State University with a Masters Degree in Marine Biology. He was employed as a scientist with the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia, PA, for 6 years. Lont was an avid fly fisherman and could spend hours tying flies. In the spring/summer months he loved camping, fishing, hunting with his father, and spending time with his family and his two dogs. All who knew and loved Lont will miss his quirky sense of humor. He dealt with his illness in such a heroic fashion without any self pity. In his 33 years of life he touched the lives of so many people that he will be truly missed. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by sisters, Dawn and Laine Marr, both of Andover; grandmothers, Lillian V. Marr of Andover; and Lucille H. Woodruff of New Lyme; and by several aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws. Calling hours will be held at the Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect Street, Andover, from 4-7p.m. on Friday, June 3, 2005.
