Lyla M. Reeves

Glen Willow, Ohio - Lyla M. Reeves, age 93, died on Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at St. Vincent Charity Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. She was born July 20, 1913 in Ft. Myers, Florida, a twin daughter of Ira G. & Carrie (Saylor) Loe. Mrs. Reeves was formerly of Crystal Lake in Andover, Ohio, Marietta and Chesterland, Ohio and wintered in Bradenton, Florida. She was a 1931 graduate of East High School in Cleveland. She was employed for many years as a bookkeeper and secretary for Kent State University. She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Andover, Ohio; the Daughters of American Revolution in Bradenton, Florida where she served as a Regent; and a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Marietta, Chesterland, Ohio. She enjoyed reading, gardening, flowers, cats, and baking Christmas cookies to share with friends and family. Mrs. Reeves married Frank Irwin Reeves on Oct. 4, 1941. He preceded her in death on May 5, 1991. She was also preceded in death by her twin sister Lyda E. Sisson, and sisters Lois Marr and Leona Loe. She is survived by a daughter, Susan E. (Alfred) Lawther of Aurora, Ohio; a son, Kevin L. (Kathleen) Reeves of Bridgeport, Washington; a grandson, Richard A. Lawther of Lyndhurst, Ohio; and a granddaughter, Jennifer L. (Phillip) Lawther-Lankford, of Aurora, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 16, 2007 at 7:00 PM at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect St., Andover, Ohio. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2-4 PM and 6:00 PM until the time of service. Burial of cremated remains will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery in Andover at the convience of the family.
