Lyle E. Harshman, age 90, of Vernon township, Ohio, died Wednesday, February 22, 2012, at Concord Care Center in Fowler. He was born February 28, 1921, in New Lyme township, Ohio, a son of George S. and Bertha (Logan) Harshman. He was a graduate of West Bazetta High School. Mr. Harshman was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army. He was employed as a millwright and retired from RMI in Niles, Ohio, in 1986. He was a member of the Johnston Federated United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fixing things and tinkering. Mr. Harshman is survived by his wife, Laurabelle R. (Root) Harshman, whom he married April 24, 1965; his daughter, Beverly (James) DeSavigny of Leavittsburg, OH; his son, Bruce (Sherri) Harshman of Cortland, OH; 4 Grandchildren; 10 Great Grandchildren; and 2 Great great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Bert Harshman; and six sisters, Bernice Wagner, Bertha Mae Harshman, Pearl Clark, Marian Fink, Myrtle Ely, and Hazel Imrie. The family would like to extend their gratitude and appreciation for the care given at Concord Care Center. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2012, at 3:00 PM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 8569 Main St., Kinsman,OH, with Pastor Ron McIlvaine officiating. Calling hours will be on Saturday from 1:00 PM until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Johnston Federated Church, 6262 Kingsville Rd., Farmdale,OH 44417.
