Marcena Mae Allen Truelson

Marcena Mae Allen Truelson, age 97, of Bethesa, MD, died Thursday, August 27, 2009 at The Mariner Health of Bethesda. She was born June 21, 1912, in Youngstown, OH, the daughter of Claude Wesley and Lela (Betts) Allen. Mrs. Truelson received a B.S. Degree from Ohio University in Athens, OH, in 1934, where she was a 60 year member of the Alpha Xi Delta Fraternity. She married Andrew Roy Nelson Truelson on November 16, 1935. They moved to Bethesda, MD, in 1940 where Andy worked for the Federal Service Agency, the precursor to the Department of Health, Education and Welfare. Her husband preceded her in death on April 24, 1974. Marcena was very active in the local chapter of the AARP and in the Women's Club of Chevy Chase, MD. She and Andy were avid square dancers; and very involved in the local chapter of the Square and Round Dancing Association. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Kinsman Cemetery, Church St., Kinsman,OH.
