Margaret L. McPherson

Margaret L. McPherson, age 80, of Dorset,OH, died Saturday, April 8, 2017, at the Hospice House in Cleveland,OH. She was born August 19, 1936, in Cleveland, OH, a daughter of Daniel Emmitt Ray and Ann (Ryan) Ray. Formerly of Cleveland, Mrs. McPherson had lived in Dorset since 1991. She was employed as a police officer in Cleveland for over 25 years, retiring in 1991. Prior to that she served as a nun in Ursuline,OH, for 13 years. Mrs. McPherson married Fred L. McPherson on October 25, 1969, and he preceded her in death on January 10, 2000. She enjoyed traveling across the country on her motorcycle with her husband; and she always owned dogs that she loved dearly. She was an avid reader; and enjoyed getting together with her large family. Mrs. McPherson attended Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Andover; and she was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Cleveland Lodge #8. She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen E. (Joe Lipinsky) McPherson of Andover,OH; her two granddaughters, Margaret L. (Jason) Mills of Quincy, Washington, and Mary J. (Martin) Whitmire of San Diego, CA; two great grandchildren, Kyle and Kelly Mills; one sister, Shirley Wagner; two brothers, Dick (Reni) Ray, and Paul (June) Ray; a brother-in-law, Tim Ward; a sister-in-law, Nancy Ray; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Dorothy Fuerst and Carol Ward; and three brothers, Bob, Bill, and Jack Ray. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 481 S. Main St., Andover,OH. Calling hours will be on Friday, April 21st from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 134 Prospect St., Andover, OH. Burial of cremated remains will take place in West Andover Cemetery.
