Margaret E. Murphy

MARGARET ELIZABETH STODDARD MURPHY, in her ninety-fourth year, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2006, in her home in Andover, Ohio. She was born in Erie, Pennsylvania on September 26, 1912, the daughter of Earl S. and Mary A. (Dengler) Stoddard. She attended St. Joseph grade school and graduated from Academy High School. Margaret married Michael C. Murphy on June 7,1940. The family moved to Andover, Ohio, in 1956. Mrs. Murphy was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Andover. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael; daughter, Jill K. Murphy Witt; and two brothers, Theodore Stoddard and Howard Stoddard. Surviving are two sons, Richard C. Murphy of Iowa City, Iowa, and Thomas M. Murphy of Espyville, PA; three daughters, Joy A. (Erv) Ledenican of Scottsdale, AZ, Jan E. Boylan of Cincinnati,OH, and Joan M. Murphy of Hillsboro, OH; a niece, Patricia Stoddard (Charles) Titus of Bradenton, FL; 5 Grandchildren, Michael T. Murphy of Kinsman, OH, Seamus P. Murphy of East Moline, IL, Sean Biery of Youngstown,OH, Erin Sharp of Amelia,OH, and Jason Witt of Columbus, OH; and several great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 3, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. officiated by Father David Misbrener at Maple Grove Cemetery, Andover, OH. Friends will be received by the family at Margaret's home following the service. Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect Street, Andover, Ohio is handling the arrangements.
