Margaret V. Phillips

MARGARET V. PHILLIPS, age 86, of Johnston, Ohio, died Monday, August 6, 2007, at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born March 23, 1921 in Gustavus, Ohio, to John Cece and Susie (Halas) Cece. A resident of Johnston for the past thirty four years, Mrs. Phillips was formerly a long time Gustavus resident. She and her husband owned and operated a dairy farm on Davis Peck Rd. in Gustavus for over thirty three years. Mrs. Phillips attended the Bazetta Christian Church; and she enjoyed traveling, gardening, going to the casinos, and she loved being with her family. Mrs. Phillips married Steve Phillips, Jr. on August 24, 1940, and he preceded her in death on August 4, 2006. Also preceding her in death are one grandson, Greg S. Phillips, one granddaughter, Debra L. Phillips, and two sisters, Mollie Barta and Elizabeth Miklos. She is survived by three sons, Robert S. (Sandy) Phillips of Gustavus, Ron D. (Lorraine) Phillips of Gustavus, and Gary L. (Nancy) Phillips of Jefferson, OH, one daughter, Shirley J. (Bob) Gorse of Cortland,OH; one sister, Irene Szabados of Youngstown, OH; seven grandchildren, Brian Phillips of Vernon, Lori Morgan of Gustavus, Courtney Leininger of Jefferson, Michael Phillips of Jefferson, Shannon Markley of Jefferson, and Jeff and Steve Phillips of Gustavus; and seven great grandchildren. A funeral service will be on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main St., Kinsman,OH. Burial will follow in Johnston Cemetery.
