Marian L. Sutliff

Cortland, Ohio - Marian L. Sutliff, age 94, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 28, 2011, at Cortland Healthcare Center. She was born on October 29, 1916 in Gustavus, Ohio, the daughter of Bessie J. (Evans) and Grover O. Logan. Mrs. Sutliff was a 1934 graduate of Gustavus High School. She married Walter G. Lewis in 1937. Mrs. Sutliff resided for many years in Bristol, Ohio and Kinsman, Ohio. Mrs. Sutliff was a bookkeeper for the Kinsman National Bank for over eight years. She stayed in banking and worked in Bloomfield and Champion and retired after many years of service. In 1963 she married Lyle R. Sutliff. Mrs. Sutliff was a member of the Kinsman United Methodist Church for over fifty years. She enjoyed gardening, baking cookies, quilting, doing crafts, making Christmas ornaments and placemats out of cards. Mrs. Sutliff is preceded in death by her parents; both of her husband's; her brother, Francis E. Logan; a niece and a nephew. Survivors include a daughter, Carol J. Prior of Kinsman, Ohio; a sister, Ethel Colwell of Monroe, North Carolina; three grandchildren; Roger L. (Robin) Prior of Kinsman, Ohio; Patricia R. (Walter) Hoffman of Transfer, Pennsylvania and Linda J. (Bill) Walton of Kinsman, Ohio; seven great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at 1:00pm at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, Ohio, with Rev. David McKinnon officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery in Cortland, Ohio. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, February 1st from 11:00am until the time of services.
