Marie Jeanette Wood

Cortland, Ohio – Marie Jeanette Wood, age 94, died on Sunday, May 17, 2015, at Lake Vista, in Cortland, Ohio. She was born on December 11, 1920, in Canfield, Ohio, a daughter of Dorothy Elizabeth (Kline) and LeRoy Anderson. Marie was a 1939 graduate of Berlin Center High School and attended Dana School of Music for two years. She pursued her life-long passion for music, as a piano teacher for over thirty years. On November 1, 1941 she married her college sweetheart, Roland R. Sielschott. Marie was a member of the Kinsman Presbyterian Church, where she was a Deacon and an Elder, as well as a member of the choir and the Women’s Association. She enjoyed being around her children, grandchildren and her many friends across the nation, and she enjoyed playing music and singing with various choirs over the years. Marie is preceded in death by her parents; three husbands, Roland R. Sielschott, Warren W. Arnold and O’ Dell Wood; a daughter Cheryl Ann Prater and a brother, Raymond Anderson. Survivors include a daughter, Karen E. (Barry) Page of Parma, Ohio; three sons, Norman L. (Kathy) Sielschott of Kinsman, Ohio, David R. (Rebecca) Sielschott of Hamet , California and Don J. (Caroline) Sielschott of Sterling, Virginia; a sister, Sally Guerrero of Springfield, Virginia; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 10:00am at the Kinsman Presbyterian Church, 6383 Church Street, Kinsman, with Rev. Susan Francis officiating. Burial will follow in Ellsworth Cemetery, Ellsworth, Ohio. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 20th from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, Ohio and on Thursday, from 9:00am until the time of services at the church.
