Marjorie E. Martin

Andover, Ohio - Marjorie E. Martin, age 84, died on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at Andover Village Retirement Community after a brief illness. She was born on August 3, 1928, in Leavittsburg, Ohio, a daughter of Edith (Hayes) and Charles Harrison Williams. A longtime Andover, resident, Marge married C.M. "Butch" Martin on October 12, 1953. For twenty-one years Marge worked for the Andover Bulb Plant General Electric as an inspector and retired in 1985. She was a member of the Andover First United Methodist Church where she was active in the ladies organization. Marge was also a member of the Andover Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and the former Richmond Grange. She loved to play cards, do cross stitch and needle point and be with her family. Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband of forty-six years, Butch Martin who died on August 21, 2000; three sisters, Mary Jean Betts, Audrey Stokes an Donna R. Jones and four brothers, Milford, Garth, Ross and infant Kenneth Williams. Survivors include her daughter, Martha L. (David) Schilling of Aurora, Ohio; step-son, Freddie Joe (Kathy) Martin of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, five sisters, Lois Betts of Andover, Faye Borland of Cortland, Ohio, Wanda Nussbaumer of Bazetta, Ohio, Karen Hall of Wayne, Ohio and Darlene Bean of Andover, Ohio; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 11:00am at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service 134 Prospect Street, Andover, Ohio, with Rev. Vernon Palo officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Andover, Ohio. Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 26, 2013 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.
