Marlea R. Sparks

Marlea R. Sparks, age 71, of Bourbonnais, IL, died Monday, December 21, 2015, at River North of Bradley in Bradley, IL. She was born October 30, 1944, in Warren,OH, a daughter of Vilho and Elizabeth (Inman) Koivisto. Formerly of Ashtabula, OH, Marlea had been a resident of Bourbonnais for the past sixteen years. She was a graduate of Andover High School in Andover, OH. Marlea was a very likable person and people were naturally drawn to her personality. She always put others first and she enjoyed being a jokester having fun with others and making them laugh. As her daughter was growing up Marlea served as her Brownie leader; and she enjoyed reading, baking, and watching old 1940's movies. Most of all she adored her grandchildren and loved to spend time with them. Marlea is survived by her husband, Francis Sparks, whom she married April 24, 1965, of Bourbonnais, IL; her daughter, Lisa (Mark) Loncar of Chardon, OH; her two grandchildren, Jason and Evan, both of Chardon; her mother, Elizabeth Koivisto of Andover, OH; and her sister, Gail (Allen) Sparks of Ashtabula,OH. She is preceded in death by her father; and her sister, Sandra Eastlake. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 134 Prospect St., Andover, OH, with Rev. Ric Harvel officiating.
