Marlin M. Moschell

Marlin M. Moschell, 84, of Cherry Valley, Ohio went to be with the Lord on December 30th, 2013 with his family at his side. He was born on June 4, 1929 to the late John Hiram Moschell and Jessie (Miner) Moschell at their home in Cherry Valley, OH. Marlin graduated from New Lyme Deming High School in 1946 and married Karlene Woofter of Mecca, OH in 1949. Marlin owned and operated dairy and crop farms over the years in Dorset, Cherry Valley, and Wayne; and specialized as a hay broker. Throughout his years as a successful farmer he served on the boards of several organizations including Western Reserve Farm Co-op, ASCS (Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Service), Soil and Water Conservation, Farm Bureau, Pymatuning Valley School Board; and was an active member of The Gideons International. He also served on the Board of Directors of Andover Bank for 36 years. Marlin was an active member of the Cherry Valley Church of the Nazarene and the Wesleyan Church in Zephyrhills, FL. Marlin and Karlene enjoyed the fellowship of many friends in Florida where they have spent the past eighteen winters. Marlin is survived by his wife of 64 years, Karlene Moschell, of Cherry Valley, OH and his five children: Marlea (Don) Terry, of Fairview, PA; Renee Robinson, of Greensboro, NC; Denise (Ed) Stafford, of Jamestown, NC; Lynette (Jim) Couchenour, of Columbiana, OH; Marlin (Connie) Moschell, of Cherry Valley, OH. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; one sister, Idabell Koontz of Newark, OH; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Floyd Moschell. Calling hours will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 181 S. Main St., Andover, OH, on Sunday, January 5, 2014, from 2:00 to 4:00PM and 6:00 to 8:00PM. The funeral will be held at the same location on Monday, January 6, 2014, at 11:00AM,with Pastor Rich Meier of the Cherry Valley Church of the Nazarene officiating.
