Martha Elaine Smith, age 72, of Geneva, OH, died Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at her home. She was born February 22, 1943, in Johnstown, Ohio, a daughter of Darrel and Elva (Zickefoose) Sloan. A lifelong Andover resident, Mrs. Smith had lived in Geneva since 2007. She was a 1961 graduate of Pymatuning Valley High School and a 1995 graduate of Youngstown State University receiving her Bachelor's degree in Education. Mrs. Smith taught at the Ashtabula County Vo-Ed School for seven years, and was employed as a substitute teacher for another five years. She was employed at Andover Industries for 35 years, retiring in 2007. She attended the Park Street Christian Church in Geneva; and enjoyed bible study and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her two sons, Jeffrey W. (Renee) Smith of Kihei, Hawaii, and Joel A. (Alex) Smith of Geneva, Ohio; her four grandchildren, Cyrus, Canaan, Randy, and Stephen; her two brothers, Ivan Sloan of Glenburn, North Dakota and Buddy Sloan of Andover, Ohio; and her three sisters, Delana (Jim) Myers of Pavilion, Wyoming, Delores (Dale) Lambert of Chula Visa, California, and Sue Simons of Andover,Ohio. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wayne A. Smith, on January 12, 1998; three sisters, Karen George, Dana Rogers, and Lucy Romanowski; and one brother, Teddy Sloan.
