MARY E. HAYSLETT, age 87, of Warren, Ohio, died Friday, March 24, 2006, at Horizon Village Nursing Home in Warren, Ohio. She was born September 10, 1918, in Gary, West Virginia, to Michael and Esther (Szabo) Vargo. A lifetime area resident, Mrs. Hayslett was formerly of Andover and has lived in Warren since 1995. She owned and operated a dairy farm with her husband for many years and was a homemaker. She formerly attended Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Andover; was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary #9519, Andover; enjoyed going to SCOPE, the senior citizen center in Warren; and her hobbies included bowling, golfing, playing cards, and she enjoyed her animals. Mrs. Hayslett married Lawrence W. Hayslett in 1952 and is preceded in death by him on August 23, 1985, as well as her parents, sister, Theresa Kume, and six brothers, Louis, Michael, Eugene, Martin, Anthony, and Joseph Vargo. She is survived by her two sons, David L. Hayslett, Sr., of Champion, Ohio, and Dennis J. Hayslett of Great Falls, Montana; two grandsons, David L. Hayslett, Jr. of Champion, OH, and Steven A. Hayslett of Phoenix, AZ; and two great grandsons, Jaden and Jace Hayslett of Champion. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect St., Andover, Ohio. Burial will follow in Dorset Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, March 28th from 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
