Andover, Ohio – Mary Ann Howdyshell, age 88, died on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at St. Paul Homes in Greenville, Pennsylvania. She was born on July 29, 1925, in Pendelton, West Virginia, a daughter of Perlena (Bennett) and Martin Arbogast. Mrs. Howdyshell worked various jobs, working for the former Andover Industries, the former 5 & 10 store of Andover, Art Vogel’s Dry Cleaners and Laundry Matt and a plastics plant up in Jefferson, but the thing she loved to do was to sew. She was a seamstress and was available to sew or repair for those who needed it. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Andover and belonged to the Aerie Eagles of Andover, Ohio. Mrs. Howdyshell is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Howdyshell and seven brothers and sisters. Survivors include five daughters, Nora Kimble of Franklin, West Virginia, Doris (Clark) McLaughlin of Dunsmore, West Virginia, Charlotte (Kenny) McCormick of Andover, Ohio, Helen (Gary) Caplinger of Harrisonburg, Virginia and Susan Howdyshell of Conneaut, Ohio; a son Danny Howdyshell of Andover, Ohio; fourteen grandchildren with two on the way and many great and great great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 25, 2014 at 11:00am at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 134 Prospect Street, Andover, Ohio. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
