Mary D. McGill

Kinsman, Ohio - Mary Delfre McGill, age 85, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 4, 2011, after a brief illness. She was born on June 14, 1926 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Esther (Cappabianca) and Joseph Delfre. Mrs. McGill was a 1944 graduate of East Youngstown High School. She married Roy James McGill, Sr. on August 18, 1960. Prior to her marriage she worked at Packard Electric in Warren for eight years. Mrs. McGill again went to work during World War II as Rosie a Riveter and helped make planes for Truscon Steel Company of Youngstown. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church of Kinsman, where she was active in the Altar and Rosary Society. She loved to bake and cook and share those items with her family and her neighborhood. Mrs. McGill is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Angelo and Jack Delfre. Survivors include her husband of fifty-one years, Roy J. McGill, Sr. of Kinsman, Ohio; two daughters, Ann M. (Mark) Smith of El Paso, Texas and Rose M. (James Cunningham) McGill of Colebrook, Ohio; two sons, Roy J. McGill, Jr. of Providence, Rhode Island and Joseph L. McGill of Kinsman, Ohio; a brother, Gabriel "Dubby" Delfre of Boardman, Ohio and four grandchildren, Alexandra, Janis, Ryan and Ian. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at 11:00am at St. Patrick Catholic Church State Route 87, Kinsman, Ohio, with Rev. Kevin McCaffrey officiating. Burial will follow in Kinsman Cemetery. Rosary prayers will be offered at 3:15pm with calling hours from 4:00pm until 7:00pm on Monday, November 7th at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, Ohio.
