Mary Lou Ondo

West Salem Township, Penn - Mary Lou Ondo, age 66, died on August 4, 2009. She was born on February 19, 1943 in Vernon, Ohio, the daughter of David Elias Riffer and Ruth Louise (Hobart) Riffer. A 1961 graduate of Greenville Penn High School, Mary Lou was a lifelong area resident of Greenville, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Cleveland Secretarial School and started her career at Penn Power. On January 16, 1965, she married John Ray Ondo. Together they have run several family businesses. Mary Lou was a life member of Greenville Chapter No.63 Order of Eastern Star, taking pride in her lifelong involvement with Eastern Star. Mary Lou loved to be with her family and friends. She had a special talent for visiting and will always be remembered for her laughter and sense of humor. Mary Lou is preceded in death by her father. Survivors include her husband of forty-four years, John Ray Ondo of West Salem Township, Pennsylvania; her mother, Ruth L. Riffer of West Salem Township, Pennsylvania; two daughters, Diana L. (Daniel) Ondo-Johnston of Greenville, Pennsylvania and Laurie A. (Michael) Ondo-Regal of Erie, Pennsylvania; one son, John David (Tammy Lindemuth) Ondo of West Salem Township, Pennsylvania; a sister, Sandra L. (Donald) Porterfield of Independence, Missouri; two grandsons, Ethan and Adam Regal; a granddaughter, Willa Regal and step grandson Daniel Johnston. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 7, 2009 at 11:00am at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, Ohio. Burial will follow in Parklawn Cemetery in Jamestown, Pennsylvania.
