Mary J. Slovinsky, 85 years old, of Kinsman, Ohio, died on Thursday, April 15, 2004, in UPMC Horizon Hospital in Greenville, PA. Mary was born on January 1, 1919, in Youngstown, Ohio, to the late Michael Sensesak and the late Kathryn (Potinchia) Sensesak. A long time resident, Mrs. Slovinsky has lived in Kinsman for over 50 years. She was a homemaker and during World War II, she worked many jobs while her husband was overseas. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Youngstown and the American Legion Auxiliary Post #506, Kinsman. Mrs. Slovinsky enjoyed growing flowers, gardening, cooking, and she loved to raise chickens. Mary married Nicholas Slovinsky on June 12, 1937. He died on August 25, 1991. Also preceding her in death was her grandson, Timothy M. Slovinsky; her sister, Anne Kovachieck; six brothers, Peter, Charles, Michael, Nick, John, and Stephen Sensesak; and her parents. She is survived by her daughter, Cathy L. (William) Cusick of Greenville, PA; her two sons, Gary L. Slovinsky of Kinsman, Ohio; and Jerry M. (Deborah) Slovinsky of Kinsman, Ohio; her sister, Stella (Joseph) Molaskey of New Middletown, Ohio; and two grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 19, 2004, at 10:00a.m. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main St., Kinsman, Ohio, with Father Charles Baxter officiating. Burial will follow in West View Cemetery, Vernon, Ohio. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 4p.m. to 8p.m. at the funeral home with a Parastas service at 8:00p.m.
