MaryAnn Kapis

Jefferson, Ohio – MaryAnn Kapis, age 82, died on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 in Jefferson, Ohio. She was born on September 27, 1930 in Cambridge, Ohio, a daughter of Anna Marie (Kennedy) and Steve Yakubisin. She was a graduate of Cambridge High School. Mrs. Kapis worked for the former Andover Industries in Andover, Cozier Container in Jefferson and Inland Container. In 1980 she married Steve J. Kapis, Jr. She was formerly a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. Mrs. Kapis was a member of the Women of the Moose in Forest Park, Georgia. She enjoyed flower gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Kapis is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Steve J. Kapis, Jr. and a brother, Robert Kapis. Survivors include children, Christine (John) Bleshoy of Citrus Springs, Florida, Linda M. (Thomas) Thomas of Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania and Ronald Kapis of Kent, Ohio; three sisters, Janet, Kathleen and Karen; a brother, Thomas and she was known as Grammie to many. A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 12, 2013 at 2:30 at Maple Grove Cemetery, Orchard Street Extension, Andover, Ohio. Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 12th from 12:00pm until 1:00pm at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 134 Prospect Street, Andover, Ohio.
