Kinsman, Ohio - Max C. Lieb, age 92, died on Sunday, March 24, 2013, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren, Ohio. He was born on May 22, 1920, in Spangler, Pennsylvania, a son of Marie (Hoppel) and Raymond Lieb. Mr. Lieb was a 1938 graduate of Spangler High School. During World War II, Mr. Lieb served in the United States Navy. He was in management at the former Sealtest/Kraft plant in Kinsman for thirty-three years and retired in 1985. On July 14, 1951 he married Ruth Lapso. In 1965 Mr. and Mrs. Lieb settled in Kinsman, Ohio, after formerly residing in Punxsutawney and Indiana, Pennsylvania. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Kinsman, where he also belonged to the Knights of Columbus, having served as Grand Knight. Mr. Lieb was a member of the Harry Lees Post No. 506 American Legion of Kinsman, Ohio, and enjoyed traveling, gardening and being outdoors. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of fifty-three years, Ruth Lieb; a son, Terrence J. Lieb; a sister Rita Knuff and a brother, Henry Lieb. Survivors include two daughters, Mary R. (Michael) Place of Gustavus, Ohio and Ann M. (Mark) Fedorko of Omaha, Nebraska; a son Dennis J. Lieb of Sharon, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Jane Byrnes of Parma, Ohio and Doris Cavallo of Hastings, Pennsylvania; a brother, Ray Lieb of North Olmsted, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Sara Schenker, Joseph Lieb, Elizabeth Evens, Marie Place, Jennifer Waychoff, Rebecca and Rachel Fedorko and five great grandchildren, Ryan, Tyler, Katie, Matthew and Chloe. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 12:00pm at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 6397 State Route 87, Kinsman, with Rev. Matthew Albright officiating. Burial will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery in Nicktown, Pennsylvania. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, March 27th at 11:00am at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, Ohio.
