Maxine E. Smith

Maxine E. Smith, age 92, of Andover, OH, died Friday, May 25, 2012, at UPMC Horizon Hospital in Greenville, PA. She was born December 13, 1919, in Belfair, Washington, the daughter of Carl G. Roessel and Frances (Media) Roessel. Formerly of North Carolina and Monongahela, PA, Mrs. Smith had been a resident of Andover since last year. She married her husband, Jacob Smith, Jr., in 1939; and together they owned and operated a gas station for many years. She was a member of the Monongahela Episcopalian Church; and the Northern Star in Washington. Her hobbies included crocheting. Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter, Rozell Leech of Andover, OH; her son, Carle Smith of Wake Forest, NC; 5 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband. Mrs. Smith will be cremated.
