Maybelle Mae Snodgrass

Kinsman, Ohio - Maybelle Mae Snodgrass, age 96, died on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Windsor House of Champion. She was born on October 2, 1916, in Elyria, Ohio, a daughter of Win-Ella Maude (VanScoyoc) and Ralph Ward Manning. Mrs. Snodgrass was a 1933 graduate of Elyria High School and a graduate of Oberlin Business College. On November 2, 1946 she married Jack W. Snodgrass. She was a transcriber for Trumbull Memorial Hospital and then Dr. Berry of Kinsman until she retired in 1981. Mrs. Snodgrass was a longtime member of the Kinsman Presbyterian Church, the Chat & Patch Club, the Kinsman Tourist Club, the former Business and Professional Women's Assoc. and the Social Arts Club. She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross for many years and could always be seen at the blood drives. Mrs. Snodgrass enjoyed knitting, tatting, crocheting, counted cross stitch, tole painting, macramé, collecting antiques and she loved her cats. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of forty-five years, Jack Snodgrass; a son, Dean W. Snodgrass and a grandson, Jerry L Betts. Survivors include two daughters, Shirley F. (Frank) Root of Cortland, Ohio, and Martha J. (Alberto) Sagues of Lutz, Florida; a son, Dale W. Snodgrass of Kinsman, Ohio; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Noon at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, Ohio, with Rev. Susan H. Francis officiating. A Private burial will follow at Kinsman Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Saturday, January 12th from 11:00am until the time of services.
